Dining Policies

One of our main goals is to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable and satisfying dining experience. Mountaineer Dining Policies are designed to reduce waste and keep your term bills low! In order to meet these goals, we ask for your assistance with the following procedures and thank you for your cooperation:

All dishes and silverware MUST remain in the Dining Hall. 

We are an eat-in facility. All food must be consumed in the dining hall. 

Exceptions: 

  • Green Box program participants (Maximum 5 Meals per Week) 
  • One piece of whole fruit
  • Ice cream in a cone or one dessert portion on a napkin
We are open 7:00 am - Late Night  to allow you to return any time!

Important Info

Selection of a Campus Dining Services meal plan entitles you to a meal card (your campus ID card) which allows you purchasing power equivalent to the plan you have selected.  Here is how it works: with each meal plan, you receive Berea Bucks (points) which can be used to purchase meals for yourself, your family, or friends in either Mountaineer Dining or the Crossroads Café. Unused Flex Dollars will carry over from Fall to Spring semesters.

Lost or Stolen Meal Cards (ID's)

Lost or stolen meal cards can be replaced. Should this happen to you, please go to the Residential Life office to get a new card. In the event that you cannot get a new card before you come in for a meal, please bring something with your student ID number on it and we will be glad to accept it until you get a new card.

Carry Out Meals 

If you are feeling under the weather and must take out your meal, just present your ID to our cashier and let them know you need a sick meal. If you are too ill to come to the dining hall yourself, ask a friend or RA to bring your ID and they can pick it up for you. We will make every effort to accommodate religious requests, as well.

Dietary Needs

Our Campus Dining Services Program can accommodate your special dietary requirements. For more information, please don’t hesitate to contact our Executive Chef John Valdez. Vegetarian and vegan options are available daily – look for the item identifiers at meals. 



Seconds Policy 

You never have to be too shy to ask for seconds in the Mountaineer Dining Hall. Our generous policy allows for a second helping of many menu favorites. All you have to do is ask!
